Hi Neocities! Been a fucking minute, huh?

I might not use this blog much (might change, but we’ll see) but that doesn’t mean I’ve done nothing for the last six-ish months~

Here’s some of what I’ve been up to in that time!

Wiccette

Wiccette is a web serial! It started its run back in December and updates every other week, usually on thursday.

Given the gift of a magical and sequestered transition, Kate believed she’d spend her whole life serving the Goddess who’d slowly transformed her; until, that is, she was thrown out, no longer worthy of the Goddess’s impossible standards.

Now an adult, her transition secured and hard-fought for— not through the whims of a deity but with her own skill at witchcraft— Kate must return to the Goddess who first blessed her and contend with her own past as well as outside forces looking to destroy all means of transition.

Inspired by works like Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series, Alyson Greaves’ The Sisters of Dorley, and Diana Wynne Jones’Howl’s Moving Castle,Wiccette focuses on trans witches as they deal with a world bent on destroying them and their communities, even as they have to contend with the toxic and destructive elements of those communities.

Follow professional witch Kate, the newest maiden to serve the (self-proclaimed) Goddess of transfeminity Nesta, and the recently and magically transformed into a woman Gamel in their attempts to protect the things they care about as society bares its teeth at them. ALSO FEATURING: Fire magic, so many girls, some really slow-burn lesbian romance, so many girls-with-problems, lots and lots of witches, time travellers, time traveller’s butch daughters, elder councils of wise crones, deal brokering demons, toxic Goddesses, trans angst, so much trans angst, AND A MAGIC DONKEY.

Unreleased Projects

What if you made the girls from Detransition Baby hunt bigfoot?

That’s the elevator pitch for the novella I’m drafting, which I hope to have released by fall this year.

Charlotte Slatter in: The Singing Caves of Chrysanthemum (very much a working title) is about two trans women hunting down lost media in the form of a forgotten cryptid hunter magazine in rural and coastal Oregon, only to discover that there might be more than a little bit of truth to what was written in the glossy pages.

What if the Joker was a girl?

Every bitch these days needs to be multifaceted, and I already know how to use editing and recording software, so I’m planning a youtube video.

The joker, but a girl, is a cemented archetype at this point, but how do the ways we talk about gender and women’s madness and evil influence our portrayals of a feminized Joker.

Does this fucking show even like women?

If I use this blog, it’ll be to host reviews of stuff that I’m reading or watching, and the central question I always find myself asking is this: does X like women?

Does Succession like women or does it just understand one particular type of women? Does White Lotus like women when they aren’t deprived of all agency? Is this a contrived form to make a desire to write very general media reviews fit into? No, No, and noooooo, trust me.

Itch.io Releases

Wiccette is planned out in parts (somewhere between six and seven) and as each part finishes its serial release, I’m going to do some serious edits and release them onto itch! Part One: Maidens, should be out around June, and Charlotte Slatter should be out around October.
